Joshua Jenkins brings a rich tapestry of global experiences and a profound affinity for community-focused living to his tenure as Executive Director at the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce, a role he has embraced since June of 2023. Born into a family committed to art, humanitarian endeavours and linguistic research, Josh's early years were spent in a variety of cultures and communities, from India, Hawaii, and Fiji to various communities across Alberta and BC. This diverse upbringing instilled in him a deep respect for nature and an insatiable wanderlust, fuelling extensive travels across Europe, Southeast Asia, Mexico, the USA, and beyond.
Having settled in Ucluelet with his wife, Heidi, they have woven themselves into the fabric of this vibrant coastal town, cherishing the tight-knit community and the unique lifestyle it offers. Their past couple of years in Ucluelet have been a testament to their love for smaller, community-driven places where natural beauty and social cohesion create a fulfilling environment.
With over 25 years in the hospitality industry, and a successful art photography business that has seen his works placed in homes globally, Josh brings a multifaceted perspective to his position. His expertise and schooling extend to digital arts, graphic design, multimedia, and digital marketing. Skills that are instrumental in the Chamber's efforts to revitalize its online presence and embrace beneficial technologies.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Graham moved to Ucluelet 12 years ago for professional reasons, and his family joined him a year later, making this vibrant community their home. With over 30 years of accounting and business experience, he has profoundly impacted both local and regional business landscapes.
Professionally, Graham is the Finance Director at Creative Salmon Company Ltd, a role in which he has amassed considerable expertise in the aquaculture sector, one of the pivotal industries of the region. His responsibilities include overseeing financial operations, payroll, benefits, overall administration, IT, and more, ensuring that the company remains a leader in sustainability and economic viability.
Graham’s professional journey spans various industries, providing him with a robust understanding of business dynamics from large corporations to smaller enterprises. This diverse experience has been invaluable in his role with the Chamber of Commerce, where he leads efforts to nurture a thriving business environment that accommodates both established and emerging sectors.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Graham is deeply involved in the community. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the USS Parent Advisory Council (PAC), actively participating in initiatives that bolster educational opportunities for local youth. His previous board roles include significant contributions to the Ucluelet Childcare Society, Ucluelet Cubs and Scouts, UES PAC, Tofino Business Association, and the Pacific Rim Home Development Cooperative (PRHDC). As the owner of the Reef Point Oceanfront B & B, Dian brings over two decades of experience in the travel and tourism sector to her role at the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce.
Her entrepreneurial journey is complemented by a rich background in visual arts, specifically in film photography. Dian has spent many years producing and selling her evocative black-and-white photographs, which can be explored at her personal gallery online at www.blackwhitephotos.ca. Her artistic talents and business acumen have made her a respected member of the local business community.
Before embarking on her journey as a business owner and photographic artist, Dian honed her professional skills as a legal assistant, working closely with corporate lawyers. This role equipped her with a keen understanding of corporate governance and legal compliance, skills she has found invaluable in managing the financial responsibilities of the Chamber. Dian holds a B.A. Honors Degree from the University of Lethbridge, which has provided a solid foundation for her diverse career pursuits.
Dian has been an active member of the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce for 20 years. Throughout her tenure, she has held several key executive positions, including Vice President, President (for three terms totaling six years), and Treasurer. Bernadette "Bernie" Herbert is a dynamic member of the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce board, bringing a wealth of experience from the travel, tourism, performing arts, and event sectors. As the owner and founder of Bernie's Surfside Cleaning since 2016, Bernie has demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the local economy, employing numerous staff and contributing significantly to the service industry in Ucluelet.
Bernie moved to Ucluelet 23 years ago and quickly became an integral part of the community. Her dedication to youth leadership is evident in her nearly 15 years of involvement with the Junior Canadian Rangers, where she has played a crucial role in mentoring and guiding young individuals in developing their skills and leadership qualities.
A staunch supporter of local events, Bernie has been involved with almost all the Edge to Edge Marathons since her arrival in Ucluelet, helping to organize and run one of the town's signature sporting events. This experience, coupled with her previous engagement in airport committee meetings on behalf of the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce, highlights her versatile capabilities and deep understanding of both local affairs and logistical challenges.

Ian Riddick's culinary journey began thirty years ago on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, a place he instantly recognized as his paradise due to its natural beauty and abundance of wild food. With a deep passion for gastronomy, Ian honed his skills in some of Canada's most prestigious kitchens, including an apprenticeship at the world-renowned King Edward Hotel in Toronto. His quest for culinary excellence took him to the scenic landscapes of Whistler, Sun Peaks, and the Rocky Mountains, enriching his repertoire in various resort hotels.
In 2012, Ian settled in Ucluelet, serving for six years as the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at Long Beach Lodge in Tofino, where his talents garnered widespread acclaim. Embracing entrepreneurship, in 2018, Ian transformed the historic Matterson house into Heartwood Kitchen, and in 2021, alongside his business partners, revitalized Shipwreck Pizza. Operating both establishments year-round, Ian continues to enrich the West Coast culinary scene with his unique flair and commitment to excellence.
Ian's expertise extends beyond the kitchen to tourism, hospitality, event coordination, catering, and hotel/vacation rentals. With a rich background in community leadership and significant involvement with Chambers of Commerce across British Columbia, including the BC Chamber, Darlene is recognized for her collaborative approach and strategic insight. Her current roles include chairing the People and Culture Committee and serving on the Quality Assurance Committee for Beacon Community Services, highlighting her focus on organizational excellence.
Darlene's extensive experience includes contributions to the BCHRMA's Audit Committee and leadership positions with the Victoria YM/YWCA, the Read Society, Beacon Community Services, and Saint Michael’s University School (SMUS). She has also led as President of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the BC Cancer Society and the SMUS Parents Auxiliary. A Certified Personnel Consultant and Chartered Professional in Human Resources, Darlene offers a unique perspective on workforce development and organizational management. Her leadership has been recognized with the 2004 Women of Distinction in Leadership Award and as a finalist in the 2015 Canadian CEO of the Year - HR Awards.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Darlene is a dedicated grandmother to nine grandchildren, enjoying Ucluelet's natural beauty with her family, including her son Andrew Bailey, a beloved local reporter.
